If you are switching over to vaping from smoking, or you are new to the whole thing in general, all of the different nicotine vape juice options can be confusing. After finally deciding on a great vape juice that seems like it fits your flavor profile, now you have to decide what nicotine level you will vape at. Although smokers rarely ever know the nicotine levels in cigarettes, when it comes to vaping, nicotine levels are important. If you are wondering how much nicotine should I get in my vape juice? And how to find out how much nicotine is too much? We’ll walk you through the choices, so you can find the best e juice nicotine level for you.
Nicotine is a chemical that contains nitrogen, which is made by several types of plants, including the tobacco plant. It is also produced synthetically.
Nicotiana tabacum, the type of nicotine found in tobacco plants, comes from the nightshade family. Red peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, and potatoes are examples of the nightshade family.
While not cancer-causing or excessively harmful on its own, nicotine is heavily addictive and exposes people to the extremely harmful effects of tobacco dependency.

Vapers have the advantage of knowing the exact ingredients of their vape juice and knowing exactly how much nicotine their e-liquid contains. For smokers though, it is difficult to know how much nicotine is contained in a single cigarette, as it varies by brand. Many cigarette brands add nicotine and other chemicals to their products, although nicotine already exists in the tobacco itself.
For vape users that were previously smokers, it can be difficult to choose which vape juice nicotine level is right for their specific need. Luckily, e liquid nicotine levels are standard across the industry. Commercial vape juice often come in nicotine strengths of zero nicotine, 3mg, 6mg, 12mg, and 18mg, although the highest nicotine vape juice may reach 50mg.
Vaping is a bit different from smoking cigarettes, and the perfect concentration for you may also depend on the length of your sessions. Regular users who prefer shorter vape sessions may want a higher concentration of nicotine in their e-juice, while those preferring longer sessions will find lower concentrations more comfortable. It may take some experimentation to find the right balance, but if you start to experience headaches or nausea then you know you either have too much nicotine or you had too long of a session.
E-cig nicotine levels may have an affect on how enjoyable vaping is for you. There are several considerations that should be made when considering the best option:
Just because you start at one level, doesn’t mean you’ll stay there forever. Try different e-juices, different devices and different nicotine levels, and find what suits you best personally. The more you enjoy your setup, the more satisfaction you will realize and the more likely you will be to stick with vaping over the long-term.
